| At least 87 people have died in the Grand mosque, Mecca after a crane collapsed. It's believed that extreme gale force winds are to blame for the accident. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims are expected to travel to Mecca this month for the annual pilgrimage. Images circulating on the internet show stream of blood on the floor, which is littered with dead bodies. It's required of all Muslims to travel to the Great Mosque at least once in their lifetime. Pilgrims then perform the Tawaf - walking around the Kaaba seven times. A video of the moment the crane collapsed can be seen below. |
